If you are a comedy freak, then the film Yamla Pagla Deewana is completely down your street.. We have seen the three Deol’s before in the hit film Apne in the year 2007 and have witnessed the acting chemistry between the two legendary sons- Sunny and Bobby, with their equally legendary father, Dharmendra. But in Yamla Pagla Deewana, we are all watching something very new, funny, a bit dramatic and last but not the least, a taste of pure comedy. Though the film begins in Canada, it later travels to Banaras and eventually makes its way to Punjab. The film’s title is inspired by the song “Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana” from the 1975 film, Pratiggya, also starring Dharmendra. “Duniyawaalon! Isska hain! Is mein Comedy hai! Action hai! Romance hai! Drama hai! Melodrama hai! Emotion hai!…Aur saala bahut saara Confusion hai!!” With a blurb like that what else can you expect – except for pure entertainment. However the film has not made too much of a dent in the box office arena and has been fairly disappointing.
